In 2005, David Page floored Malthouse Theatre audiences with Page 8, a soul-stirring portrait of a life less ordinary. Now, his brother Stephen picks up the story of his family with Kin, a rocking, hip-hop dance jam, riddled with affecting tales. In this new production, Stephen hands the torch to the next generation: in their words, at an age where they are often spoken for but rarely spoken with. Kin is performed entirely by his young relations, whose slim shoulders bare a world of joy and struggle, pain and faith. These kids are deadly: whether break-dancing, singing or just spinning a yarn.
